PRACTICAL, PROVERBIAL POINTS TO PONDER (Vol.8)

 

  1. The Greatest Gift has already been given; God is offering it to you even now. (Acts 2, Rom. 6).
  2. To meet our greatest nee: forgiveness of sin – God gave us His very best: Jesus The Christ! (2 Cor. 5:21)
  3. His Cradle points to the message of the Cross; His resurrection proclaims supremacy of His Throne.
  4. Imagine if everyone was *caring *responsible *humble *self-content *instructive & *serving God for Heaven’s reward. (Gal 6:1-8).
  5. Life’s true value is seen only when knowing its purpose. – Eccl. 12:13-14; Jn 10:10.
  6. The Bible: God’s software for the soul. Maximum performance requires download, installation, & steady updates & system checks to purge sinful viruses. (Josh. 1:8; 2 Tim.3:16).
  7. May our discussions about God’s Word never use this phrase. People often say, “I know the Bible says this, BUT, …” (Lk. 6:35, 46, Rom.6, I Pet.3:21).
  8. Goals are attained when made a priority. This partly explains why many won’t have eternal life. (Jn 10:1-10; Jms 1:22).
  9. A Christians’ advice can appear either Valid or Void due to huis/her lifestyle. (Let’s BE what we profess to believe: righteous! (Gal. 3:27).
  10. The simplest, most helpful advice for understanding the Bible: Just Start Reading It. (2 Tim. 3:16).
  11. Contentment in Christ eliminates unhealthy dependence on others’ recognition for self-worth. (Phil. 4:6-8;11-13; Heb. 3:13).
  12. (Luke 6:46) This rhetorical question by Jesus encourages us to examine our faith, trust, commitment, speech, & behavior. Answer it well.
  13. The C.R.O.S.S. is where ‘Christ Redeems Our Sinful Souls.’ Our whole life changes because we start to gain a new, spiritual heart.
  14. While on Earth, Heaven can be reflected. Into our hearts, God’s Will must be accepted. (1 Thess. 5:18; Col. 3:16-17).
  15. Gratitude & Contentment bring priceless blessings into our lives. However, discontentment & greed so easily lures many into debt. (Matt. 6:24ff).
  16. A harmful way to become “broad-minded” is by over-stretching your conscience. (Rom 6:21-23)
  17. May all we do bring glory to God. (Matt. 6:33, Col 3:2-10)
  18. (God Owns It All – Psm.50:9) + (We Are Simply Stewards – Matt. 25:14ff) + (So Let’s Help Others In Need – 1 Jn. 3:17, Gal.6:1-2).
  19. Is it a need or a want? The words ‘I Need…’ often precede mere preferences, not necessities. (Phil. 4:11,19; I Tim. 6:8)
